The IronMind Red Nail Roster is one of the ultimate bending cert lists in the world. It’s a who’s who of the bending elite, and while there are several ELITE benders not on that list; one being the greatest unbraced bender of all time, the Red Nail roster seems to announce that one has “arrived” in the bending world. Look at these names: Brookfield, the Holle brothers, Milfeld, Edgin, Morton, Amidon, Heslep, Beatty, Hadland, Corcorran, Johnson, Glass, Wigren, Knight, etc….My point is that joining this list places your name alongside some of the best in the world. What makes the Red Nail Roster different than other cert lists? The requirements: IMPs, 60sec, no bands. In my opinion the wrap and time requirements set this list apart from other well known lists, that’s why there are only 64 names on the Red Nail Roster since 1995.

Many members join steelbenders.org with the goal of certing the Red “one day”. Well I am proud to say that steelbenders.org seems to have a knack for turning out Red Nail Roster members, and we have several young, up and comers ready to join the ranks of the elite:

EJ Livesey- EJ has been bending for a while before joining steelbenders.org. Even though EJ had some quality bends before joining steelbenders, he has really upped his game since. He has decimated the Red Nail DO in IMPs, under official conditions…he is ready to make some noise with an official IronMind cert attempt. However, EJ also has some quality DU bends under his belt…..he may bide his time until a Red DU cert is doable. Either way he is a young talent that has the potential to go far in the game, keep an eye on him!

Richard Bean- Richard has been posting sick bends on YouTube for some time now. Richard is well known in the FBBC cert world, but has yet to add his name to the Red Nail Roster…this is just a mere formality as he could have certed easily last year. He’s a busy guy so the Roster had to take a back seat for a bit, but rest assured, when he decides to do it…..it’s automatic.

Alex Roberts- Alex is one of our members from across the pond. Alex resides in England and is one of the Queen’s young benders ready to make his make his mark. England has a great history of grip strength and steel bending and is home to the world’s greatest unbraced bender of all time, Gary Hunt. Alex would do his countrymen proud by putting his name on the 2011 Red Nail Roster, and he is entirely capable of doing so.

Chris Moore- Chris has made outstanding progress since joining steelbenders. Chris went from DOing 1/4″ CRS to the Red in a very short period of time. Chris has just recently bent the Red in IMPs under official conditions, but he completely owned it. He is ready to cert tomorrow. Chris has great upper body strength and has discovered how to channel that strength into the steel. No Red is safe.

You will see all of these names on the Red Nail Roster in 2011, if the above benders choose to attempt an official cert. All are quite capable. There are other up and coming benders that could surly join the 2011 list if they put their minds to it. steelbenders.org has been churning out some monsters, and I think 2011 will be a breakout year. I predict that EVERY name on the 2011 list will be a member of steelbenders.org. Congrats Young Guns!!! Make your mark!
